The game had many aspects, and one of the goals to win would to keep Timmy off the electric fence that surrounded the control room. Tommy would have to shoot the pinball perfectly, targeting raptors and knocking them down. So far, every time Timmy was up on the fence, Tommy was able to get him down, scoring millions of points in the process. At one point Jurassic Park's Mosquito Millions was lit up and Tommy felt the impact of having millions of mosquitoes released into the playing field to affect the game. The power shed was another favorite spot for targeting the ball, and Tommy was able to push his high score way up with that. The T-Rex bone busting part of the game was his favorite, though.
When Tommy got down to his fifth and final ball, he still needed a lot of points to get into first place of the Jurassic Park competition. He fired the pinball to the top of the game and watched it arc down into to the dinosaur laden field. It wasn't long until he had racked up many more Jurassic Park points, but suddenly the ball was trapped. It was about to be ejected in a trajectory that would make it very difficult to catch with the flipper, ending the game without enough points to win the competition. Then Tommy remembered the smart missile button on the gun trigger. When pressed at the exactly the right time, it would send the pinball zooming through the Jurassic Park maze of dinosaurs, bumpers and traps, hitting all the targets and winning the entire contest. He readied his aim. In Jurassic Park or any other pinball game, aim was a function of eye and hand coordination, combined with great timing. The weeks of practicing at home had already honed his skills and made him an outstanding player. But would it be enough to win the competition? He waited patiently until the lights counted down and the ball was ejected. With one quick flick of his finger, he sent the ball rebounding back into action and moments later the game was over. He'd scored a resounding win. Kids gathered around the new Jurassic Park winner with praises and compliments as he collected his prizes and headed home to thank his parents. Jurassic Park pinball was found in many arcades and pizza places when the movie came out in 1993. The game was an instant success and many different children and adults were hooked, spending a lot of their hard earned money trying to get through all eleven levels and trying to set a high score. Besides Jurassic Park pinball, there were a great deal of other games that were spawned from the Jurassic Park movies. Some of the games were Jurassic Park games for Nintendo and Sega Genesis and the Jurassic Park arcade game. The movies that followed Jurassic Park also had a slew of games that were consistent with the theme of the dinosaurs in the movies. Jurassic Park pinball machines are currently still available for sale. They retail for about $3,000.00 brand new and unused. They are slightly less expensive for used versions of Jurassic Park pinball. There are currently websites offering a version of Jurassic Park pinball where you can play online. Although you will not get the same experience of actually playing a real pinball game, it is still a fun recreation of Jurassic Park pinball. |
